Peak Ace on Air Episode #20: Re:signal’s e-commerce SEO report

Another freshly squeezed episode of Peak Ace on Air! This week, Bastian sat down with CEO and co-founder of Re:signal, Kevin Gibbons. And by pure coincidence: the topic of this episode was Re:signal’s e-commerce SEO report 2020! After we posted the title of this week’s episode on social media, Kevin saw the post on LinkedIn and offered to talk about his own report with us. Thanks Kevin!

Kevin designed the report to look for a picture of how the e-commerce sector is using SEO in these turbulent times, and how it is expected it to develop in the future.

The report is divided into three sections: a video interview with the Head of UK Retail at KPMG, Paul Martin; a questionnaire answered by retail SEO experts; and a look at visibility changes for the 250 biggest retailers (domains) in the UK.

The retail SEO experts answered questions such as:

      • What did they think are the biggest challenges facing online retailers currently?
      • What SEO activities are they planning and did Covid-19 change their strategy somehow?
      • What are their most important metrics for success?

You can download the whole study from the Re:signal’s website.

Bastian and Kevin also got into talking about how marketing agencies are not always the best at marketing themselves, as they are so busy doing it for their clients. (It’s a valid excuse!!)

Plus, we have a topic for next week: outreach, domestically and internally! So: you’ve written a great content piece and you’d like it to be featured outside of your company. The next step for you is to get it into the hands of other websites and online publications. But how do you do that successfully? How do you approach journalists and get them interested in your piece? And what about reaching them overseas?

Tune in next week to find out: same time, same place.
