Peak Aces Opens a New Office in Leipzig

Over the past few months, we have welcomed many new colleagues to our teams here at Peak Ace AG – and while we continue to grow in Berlin, we’re also excited to announce we’re opening a second location in Germany.

Peak Ace will open a new office in Leipzig this August. As a multi-award-winning and internationally active performance marketing agency, we are excited to offer our services in PPC, SEO and performance content marketing from the Saxon metropolis in the future.

There are many reasons for Peak Ace to open a location in Saxony’s most populous city. In addition to the steady expansion of its local businesses, the dynamic city of Leipzig is particularly appealing due to its excellent university landscape. The renowned University of Leipzig and the city’s University of Applied Sciences (HTWK) and their graduates provide a large pool of potential employees. This, of course, greatly benefits the search for new colleagues for our Leipzig teams.

The short distance between Peak Ace’s headquarters in Berlin and the new location in Leipzig will enable a seamless, continuous exchange that goes far beyond digital meetings. Joint team events and on-site meetings are in the works, as well as professional training and workshops that promote successful collaboration between the Leipzig and Berlin teams.

Ariane Ackermann: Head of the Leipzig Peak Ace Office

The new location will be managed by expert Ariane Ackermann. Born in Leipzig, she has held several positions in online marketing both during and after her studies at the University of Leipzig. She got to know and love the many facets of paid search while working at companies such as Miva, AdSharka, Unister and, most recently, Fluege.de.

Additionally, Ariane has more than 15 years of experience in search marketing, which she will bring to her role as Team Lead of the Performance Advertising department at Peak Ace.

So, what are her plans and goals for the Leipzig Peak Ace office? We (virtually!) sat down with her and found out.

How did you come to be in charge of the new Peak Ace location?

I’ve known Marcel and Bastian (the co-founders and CEOs of Peak Ace AG) for a few years now. I met them through a former colleague at Unister, who later moved to Airbnb. As a long-time Peak Ace client, Airbnb was the link to the agency for me.

Marcel, Bastian and I actually set our sights on the idea of opening a new Peak Ace location in Leipzig as early as 2019. Due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic last year, we initially wanted to wait a little longer with our plan. At the beginning of the year, however, we were able to resume planning. I’m delighted our plan is finally underway!

You’ve been in the industry for years. What excites you most about PPC?

I think PPC brings a lot of (financial) responsibility. Looking after client accounts requires a certain level of trust. I believe PPC has become an essential marketing channel. Nowadays, companies really need to be represented in search engines. What I enjoy most is using all my know-how and making full use of PPC’s technical potential to always achieve the best results.

What advantages do you see in opening a new Peak Ace office in Leipzig?

As a Leipzig native, I can testify to the fact that Leipzigers feel very attached to their city and don’t like to leave it. If they do, they’ll always return sooner or later – it’s not just me. That’s why I think it’s great there’s a Peak Ace office in Leipzig. Also, when you consider the agency landscape here in the area, I think Peak Ace fills a gap. I think local agencies don’t tend to operate at the key account level that Peak Ace does, which makes us very attractive as an employer.

What are the biggest challenges regarding the site opening? How do you plan to overcome them?

Opening a new location is a completely new experience for me. Basically, there are a lot of things to consider that I’ve never dealt with before – from finding the right premises to issues such as fire protection – but it’s also an exciting challenge for me from a professional point of view. Up to now, I’ve mainly worked in in-house teams and managed them. By managing the Leipzig office and the performance advertising team, I will get to know many new client accounts, agency life and thus a completely new “working style”. I am really looking forward to that!

As soon as the office location is decided upon, what do you think we can do to bring the spirit of Peak Ace to Leipzig?

I like being able to come into the office in person, because I really appreciate the back-and-forth with your colleagues. Early on, when a new team is growing together, I think that’s especially important. Apart from that, of course, it’s also important to be able to have fun at the workplace. In the digital industry, a bit of “gamification” can be really effective. It may seem contradictory, but a Nerf gun battle or two in the office is great for team cohesion!

When you’re not optimising SEA accounts, what do you like to do in your free time?

Volleyball is my biggest hobby, but I also like to play badminton or table tennis and spend a lot of time in parks and lakes in the area. I also like to canoe along the canals and ride my bike – Leipzig is a real bikers’ city! When lockdown began, I also started gardening on my balcony.

What are you looking forward to when you think about the process ahead?

After spending so long in home office, I’m looking forward to working in a nice office on new projects with exciting clients. I’m especially looking forward to a crop of new colleagues in the Leipzig office. By the way, we’re already looking for new Peak Acers – it’s worth taking a look at our open positions!

    Leipzig Employees Wanted!

In order to liven up our new Leipzig office, Peak Ace is looking for colleagues in our PPC, SEO and Content Marketing channels. Whether you are a working student, a young professional, a junior or a senior manager – our vacancies are open to all levels.

There are heaps of benefits to joining our Leipzig office, including fair overtime, exciting international projects, individual advancement within the framework of our Peak Ace Academy and much more. Creating a pleasant working environment is a top priority for us, and we’re thrilled to say our remarkable working atmosphere was recently (re-)honored with a Global Agency Award for “Best Agency Culture”.
